Your child loves STEM robots, and that’s what prompts you to purchase more and more relevant toys. However, as a good parent, you intend to have such robots that are great for recreational and educational purposes equally. Well, that’s a valid point too. For your assistance, I searched STEM robots online and found an AI robot that’s currently in demand. Its name is Kai (Kosmos Artificial Intelligence) that’s offered by a popular German brand, Thames & Kosmos. So in today’s blog post, you will learn about the pros and cons of Kai (814743017009) so that you can decide whether the AI robot is good for your child’s educational and recreational requirements or not.

Analysis of the Robot, Kai:
The following are some noticeable points that I gained after carefully reviewing the artificial intelligence robot, Kai:
Movements based on Gestures & Sounds:
The six-legged artificial intelligence robot, Kai, moves based on a child’s gestures and sounds that they create while playing with the robot. Yes, it’s controlled based on the body gestures and sounds. For example, it can walk, turn, and stop based on a person’s body movements.
Well, the robot has an app that you have to install on your laptop, Android phone, or computer to provide instructions. This robot learns based on machine learning to better perform what’s been assigned.
Engaging Manual:
The robot comes with a colourful, narrative, and fun-based manual that involves details regarding the robot’s functions, its assembly, and history & future of AI.
Useful for Children of Different Ages:
You can apply this robot for your child if they’re 10+ years old, but you have to assist them a bit for their effective play. However, if your child is 12+ years old, then you don’t have to assist them because they can play with the robot on their own.
Hands-On & Digital Learning:
Your child can learn how to control the robot digitally with its app and physically with their moves and sounds. Nice, isn’t it!
Award-Winning Toy:
The toy won two awards too because of its effectiveness. It got an award, Speciality Toy of the Year, in 2023 that was presented by The Toy Foundation. And it was added as the 5th top gift in INSPIRE Engineering Gift Guide 2023 by Purdue University.
Impressive Face Display & Rotatable Upper Body:
The red LED face display of Kai shows facial expressions and various signs (e.g., a heart) to entertain a user based on the user’s app commands. You can program its face with the app to bring various messages and signs on its display. And its upper body can rotate up to 360 degrees. Interesting, right!
Remote-Control Option:
You can even manually control the robot with its app remote-control feature. You can decide which movements the robot should display by providing instructions in its application. You can even apply your smart device like a gyroscope to control Kai. You can tilt your smart device to make the robot move in the direction you want.
Reliable Toy Height:
The toy’s height is 11 inches that’s good enough for a child’s play. As all children love big toys or toys of moderate height at least, Kai can surely impress your child with its moderate or reliable height.
Lightweight Nature:
The weight of this toy is only 1.7 lbs that makes it a lightweight plaything. It’s great for kids as they can easily move it around whenever they want without any fatigue.
Durable Product:
The aspect of toy durability can’t be light for any parent as this is one of the most important aspects while considering any educational robot. Kai is quite strong as it is made of durable plastic building pieces. Your child can learn and play with this robot for a long duration.
Cons of the AI Robot:
The first con that I noticed is Kai has 123 building pieces that make its assembly difficult. With so many pieces, its assembly would require much time and learning on your part.
Another con is the robot doesn’t come with batteries. You have to purchase those batteries. It operates on 4 AAA alkaline batteries that you would have to purchase regularly after their expiry date, and the batteries are not rechargeable.
Plus, it’s somewhat difficult to clean the robot. But obviously, as most of the parts which have to be assembled are simple, the cleaning is not much difficult. Therefore, you won’t have to think much about how to properly clean the robot.
Conclusion:
So that’s all what I have to share with you regarding the review of Kai, an artificial intelligence robot. I hope you like my content.
